We do not sell Storm Stoppers through Lowe’s, Home Depot or any other “big box” home improvement chain. The way you can differentiate Storm Stoppers® from hurricane protection products that are sold at those chains is our patented 3M Dual Lock™ fastening system. 3M Dual Lock is exclusive to Storm Stoppers and we do not sell Storm Stoppers with any other fastening system.

The reason we do not sell Storm Stoppers with bolts or screws is that “bolt on shutters” are hard to install, heavy and dangerous. Bolt on shutter systems are dangerous, since bolt on shutters inhibit safe exit from window exits in an emergency. Since 1998, almost a dozen homeowners have died when they were trapped in fires. No power tools are necessary and the basic installation tools such as a carpet knife, spring clamps and a straight edge can be purchased at any Ace Hardware Store or home improvement center for under $25.
